If your Johns Creek house has stucco on it, you already know the local history. Synthetic stucco spread through north Fulton in the late 1980s and 1990s, and it landed heavily here in St. Ives, Sugar Mill, Chartwell, Country Club of the South and along the Medlock Bridge corridor, usually paired with brick fronts and hardboard on the sides and rear. Those walls move. Wet springs, ninety degree summers and short hard freezes work every joint, and once a hairline crack opens at a window head or a control joint, water gets behind the finish and the paint releases in sheets. A ceramic coating changes that equation. Rhino Shield lays down 10 to 12 mils minimum, eight to ten times the thickness of conventional paint, and it stays elastic over EIFS and hardboard so the wall can move without tearing the film. One prepped and primed application replaces the repaint you would otherwise schedule again inside five years, and the 25-year warranty is fully transferable.
