Keep You & Your Home Healthy

Spring is right around the corner, and although we’ve been lacking sunshine in Georgia for the last several months, we’ve seen a steady increase in temperatures over the last two weeks. With Spring comes a fresh start, as well as allergies and a second round of cold season. As if we weren’t already dreading that, add to that the current State of Emergency we’re in across the globe and things seem just a little bit more gloomy and uncertain.

It’s important that we protect ourselves, as well as those around us. And as a reminder, remember to practice social distancing and keep any gatherings to group sizes of less than ten people. We’ve put together a simple list of things that can help prevent you from getting sick this season.

  1. Wash Your Hands- How many times have we been told that throughout the course of our life? It’s effective, efficient, and all it takes is a little warm water, some soap, and 20 seconds of your time.
  2. Hydrate-Drink plenty of water. This helps flush out your body from toxins and bad bacteria.
  3. Don’t Touch Your Face- We know it’s hard, but keep those fingers away from your face, especially your eyes, nose and mouth. There are germs EVERYWHERE, and we don’t want then getting into your system.
  4. Disinfect- There are sanitizing wipes by the grocery cart return for a reason! Use them. And maybe take a couple of extra ones to clean off your phones, laptops, and other electronic devices that you’re always on.
  5. Get Some Sleep- Rest is essential to your health. Try to get at least 7-8 hours. If you’re tired, go to bed. Don’t fight it!

As for our homes, it’s important to keep them healthy too! The more you take care of them, the more they’ll take care of you. Below are a list of things that are easy to forget, but not difficult to get done.

  1. Change Air Filters- This needs to be done every 30-45 days, and is essential in providing you and your home with clean air!
  2. Get Carpets Cleaned- The amount of dirt, dust, and bacteria that your carpet absorbs is an exponential amount. Steam cleaning them at least once a year, helps get rid of not only odors and stains, but dirt, grime, and bacteria.
  3. Use a Dehumidifier- This helps dry up any moisture in your home, preventing mold and mildew buildup.
  4. Leave Shoes at the Door- Your shoes, weather you realize it or not, are filthy and can track in harmful toxins and bacteria from fertilizers, pesticides, and fecal matter. The list goes on and on, but I think that says it all.
  5. Keep Your Home Clean & Tidy- Disinfect kitchen counters, bathroom toilets, faucets, and any surface that has the potential for dirt. The tidier the house, the easier it is to keep clean!
