Georgia
Out in the wiregrass country of south Georgia the summer runs long and the sun is relentless, and paint in Coffee County usually fails from the top down: chalking first, then fading, then peeling wherever humidity has worked in behind it. The Gaskin Avenue historic district holds the oldest exteriors in Douglas, Queen Anne and Craftsman houses built from about 1890 into the 1940s, with wood siding, deep porches and painted trim that has come back for another coat every three to five years since. Out toward Cherokee Hills, Oak Park and Bay Meadows the walls are more often brick, painted block and vinyl. Rhino Shield answers that siding problem with material rather than another repaint. It is a ceramic coating laid on at a minimum of 10 to 12 mils, roughly eight to ten times the film a brushed coat leaves behind, so it bonds to the board and flexes with it instead of chalking loose. The 25-year warranty transfers with the house.
